Doris Jane Sechrest

Doris Jane Sechrest, age 77 of Overland Park, Kansas died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born on March 5, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Wayne and Lenarue Sechrest. She grew up in Osawatomie, Kansas and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1952.

She worked for Missouri Gas Energy in Kansas City, Missouri for many years until she was forced to take early retirement due to failing health.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

She is survived by two brothers, Edwin Sechrest of Houston, Texas and Lee Sechrest of Tucson, Arizona.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawnee, 11400 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee, Shawnee, Kansas at 10:30 am, Friday, September 16, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Kansas City Chapter, 1900 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208 or to First Baptist Church of Shawnee.
