Bruce David Silvest

Bruce David Silvest, age 68, Osawatomie, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was born on August 5, 1957 in Cresco, Iowa the son of Stanley and Arlene Hutchens Silvest. He entered the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country for ten years. He then went to work in the civilian world. He retired from PepsiCo. Bruce was united in marriage to Cindy Weddle on June 21, 1975. He was a member of the American Legion in Paola, Kansas. He enjoyed reading. If Bruce took an interest in doing a specific project, he was all in. He researched the topic extensively and large amounts of notes on legal pads. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Stanley Silvest Jr.. Bruce is survived by his wife, Cindy, three sons, Jamie Silvest and wife Veronica, Michael Silvest, and Jonathon Silvest and wife Julia, a brother, Steven Silvest, two sisters, Elizabeth Spitzer, and Cynthia Stiner, and eight grandchildren, Sarah, David, Kaylee, Michael Jr., Samuel, Elora, Darcy, and Duncan..

Funeral service will be held 3 pm Sunday, February 8, 2026 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home, Osawatomie, Kansas. Burial will be in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Miami County Cancer Foundation. Online condolences can be left at www.eddybirchard.com.
