Paul Douglas Turner, age 70, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at The University of Kansas Hospital in Olathe, Kansas.

Paul was born September 6, 1955, in Independence, Missouri. He was the third of four children born to Charles Robert and Donna Jean (Haggard) Turner. He grew up in Belton, Missouri, and later attended Spring Hill High School in Spring Hill, Kansas, where he graduated with the class of 1973.

After high school, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged after four years of service.

On February 14, 1981, Paul and Louetta A. McBrearety were united in marriage at the Spring Hill Methodist Church. They made their home in Osawatomie before moving to a farm in Lane, Kansas, where they raised horses. The couple later moved to Paola.

Paul worked for Johnson County in the wastewater department for 30 years before retiring. In his free time, he enjoyed leatherworking and riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Shryl Lynne Alexander and Danny Joe Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Louetta Turner; daughter Alise Wilson-Chandler, stepchildren, Floyd Cates (Cathy) and Angela Cates; sister, Patti Weiland (Gary); grandchildren, Hayley Mots (Tony) and Leslie Weitl (Scott); great-grandchildren, Brayden, Rylee, and Morgan; along with many extended family members and friends.
