Raymond Guy King, age 57, of Osawatomie, Kansas passed away in his home.

He was born in Los Angeles, California on April 3, 1968. He was adopted by Ben Mack King and Rosalie King before he was a year old. He was the apple of his parent’s eye. He loved being with his Grandparents, especially his Poppy, Raymond Leroy King, and spending time with his Uncle Buck and his Kelly family. His family would spend time going to Bass Lake, California with family and friends - having the best time together.

Ray , also known to his family as “Guy”, grew up in Anaheim, California. As a boy, he loved sports and choir at Brookhurst Junior High. This is where he first met the Love of his life, Nicola Bennett. He was a stand out athlete who played in football, and baseball at Anaheim High School. You would always hear his Mother , Rose, cheering for him loudly and proudly. Anything he did in life, he aimed to be the best at! He found his passion in carpentry work. He would soon become a Union Journeyman Carpenter. He would go on helped build huge concrete containers at the port in Long Beach, Long Beach Convention Center, Hollywood Galaxy right next to Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, John Wayne Airport terminals , Stowers Cancer Research Building, and many more.

Ray married his middle school sweetheart , Nicola Bennett on February 21, 1987. Soon after , they welcomed their first born daughter - Brittney Rhae. He said this is when he knew what true love felt like, when he became a Father. They would welcome their second daughter, Kristina Nicole on May 2, 1991; and Taylor Deanne on December 9, 1992. He moved their family to Warsaw , Missouri and lived next to his Father and Mother-in-Law in December 1993.

He lived in Olathe, Kansas with his best friends , David David and Craig, where he would pursue one of his passions besides being a journey union carpenter , singing in a rock band called Head Injury. They would play lounges , bars, and private out door venues. He was a star. He would meet a young lady that lit his world up that he fell in love with , Rebecca Need. He loved becoming a Father to her son Jacob Need. They would make a home of Osawatomie, Kansas in March 2000 - the town he grew to love so much. On September 4, 2004 he would marry his love, Rebecca in Las Vegas. In their deep love, they would welcome a son , Raymond William Mack King on June 21, 2007.

When he wasn’t playing in a band called Brain Injury, or Freak Show Inc-he loved going to concerts to play in the mosh pit, he would love to go pheasant and deer hunting, target shooting his pistols, skeet shooting, cliff jump off of Lovers leap, family /friend get together with bottle rocket wars on 4th of July, canoeing on the river , fishing with his family, playing board and card games with family, playing video games-like Syphon Filter, Airplane Dog fights, DOA, Ghouls n Ghost , and more, talking about History and politics, golfing, swimming, having a rabbit farm, playing with his Rottweilers , gardening, BBq-ing, driving his Transam Firebirds, building custom planes and Viking boats from popsicle sticks, playing chess with his son Mack, and more. The thing he loved the most was his children and grandchildren. He was full of life and a shining light. He always tried to make everyone have a great time wherever he was.

Raymond is proceeded in death by his parents Ben Mack King, and Rosalie King.

Raymond is survived by his children Brittney King Fernandez, Kristina King, Taylor King, Jacob Need, and Raymond “Mack” King, and his three grandchildren: John McArthur, Natalie McArthur, and Erikson Fernandez.

Service is Sunday , Dec 28 at 2:00 PM at Osawatomie First Christian Church
