Wilma "Jean" Cook

Jean Cook (Hewitt), the daughter of Glenn Hewitt and Neva Haase (Long), died December 21, 2025 in Grand Junction, CO. She was born October 13, 1928 in Osawatomie, KS.

Jean and Claron Cook were married August 9, 1946 in St. Paul, MN. The couple were married 72 years. To them were born 5 children. Jean was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Claron, parents, an infant daughter and an infant son, Don Ralph Cook. Jean is survived by three daughters, Mary Fulk (Jeff), LaCygne, KS, Caralyn Strade (Terry), Grand Junction, CO, and Gail Ahrens (Jeff), Ferguson, MO. She had 10 grandchildren Nathan, Alisha, Jonathan, Katie, Cassie, Andy, Sean, Chris, Amy and Emily. She had 19 great grandchildren, Joshua, Carissa, Sofia, Isabella, Payton, Ava, Noah, Joshua, Treston, Cambrie, Jenna, Connor, Maddoxx, Gracie, Grace, Lincoln, Anna, ILYSM, and Jude. She had one great great grandson, Hampton.

Jean had many jobs over the years from working in the grocery store she lived above in high school to switch board operator, transporter for cars at the Ford plant, but most importantly raising her family and making many others feel a part of the family. She was loved by many.

Visitation 1-2pm Saturday May 23, 2026 and Service at 2pm at Eddy Birchard Funeral Home.
